Helen Ainsworth, Managing Director of Harmony Homes

At last, a hive of activity on our ‘Beautiful Island’.

An increase in valuations has resulted in more property coming onto the market.  In fact figures from the South of the Island show twice as many properties coming onto the market during the first five months of the year, compared to last year.

Lots of sales, especially in the South and, importantly, more movement in the middle priced bracket of £350,000 to £550,000.

As always, the largest percentage of sales are between £150,000 and £250,000.

Houses priced competitively are selling briskly at close to the asking price, houses not priced competitively often have to accept 5% to 10% less than the asking price.

The rental market is as good as ever and usually we are able to find tenants within 2 weeks of listing the property. We are short of property to rent and urge landlords to contact us, as we have tenants waiting to rent.
