Moving home checklist
Have you…
1. Redirected your post?
You can download the form from the Post Office website by clicking here.
2. Informed your utility providers?
You need to tell them at least 48 hours in advance that you are moving. On your moving day you will need to read the meters in both properties so the correct bills can be issued. When you move into your new home, contact your utility suppliers so they can register you as a new customer/change your property address.
3. Arranged for your final telephone bill?
If the answer is no, you will need to do this and arrange a new connection at your new home. You may be able to transfer your existing number.
4. Informed your Internet & mobile phone provider?
5. Informed your insurance provider?
6. Informed your bank or building society?
It is important to alter or cancel direct debits you have for your old home.
7. Informed your pension & investment provider?
8. Updated your driving license?
Visit the Isle of Man Government website and download the Driving License Application form.
9. Told the TV licensing?
Your TV license will need to be transferred. You can do this online here.
10. Decided what you do and don’t want to take?
There are lots of charities that will gladly have your unwanted items.
